Blue Mountain Rider:  Betty

My name is Betty Fox and this is my mare Cowboy's Buckel Bunny.  Her sire is One Awesome Cowboy.  We do some showing but like to trail ride.  We ride our great Blue Mountains and the Wallowas.  "Wow! what scenery!"  I've been involved with horses all my life and now my daughter also belongs to the Blue Mountain Riders.  So it  definitely runs in the family!  See my daughter, Bobbi's page.

Betty has been a member since 1996.

Here are some other horses that I have owned.

This is my buckskin horse Bar Dees Last Stand.  I rode him in the Muddy Frogwater parade this last summer (2002) and even though he is totally blind, he just went along like he had done it all before.  He is 24 years old this year (2003) and is in good health other than his eyes, which he lost to Lepto.  He is my best friend and has won many many ribbons and trophies.

This is a picture of Sunkist Cody and me at Walla Walla Fair.  He took the Reserve Championship that year.  He was good in the mountains and with kids.  He loved to show and anyone could ride him and feel safe.  I sold him several years ago to some people in Hermiston.  He is missed greatly.

This is a picture of my bay horse, Chubby Red Jim, who I bought when he was four years old from Sam Waldron.  Chubby won lost and lots of ribbons and trophies too.  My daughter, Bobbie, showed him a lot and won on him also.  Everyone loved Chubby.  He was one kind animal and best friend.  He liked to wait until you were brushing his foretop and then blow his nose all over your show shirt.  He was good in the mountains too.  Chubby was in hs 20's when he died from the colic.
This paint horse is John.  I bought him from John Funk when I worked at the sale yard.  He turned out to be a good show horse as well as a roping horse.  I lost him 5 years later to the heaves.
