Blue Mountain Rider: Cassie

:
Since 1981 Cassie has been an active member of the club, lending her many talents in a variety of ways.  Artist of original watercolors, oils and pastels, photographer, t-shirt designer, event coordinator; these are just a few of the activities Cassie is well known for and makes her living by.  Her photos appear throughout the BMR scrapbooks detailing the Mountain Ride weekends and Colt Peeks.
She shares her home with a wonderful husband and as many cats as he can afford! - A beautiful Scottish Fold named Baskin (featured  two years in a row in an international kitten calendar) and a sweet, QUIET Siamese named Robbins.
In January of 2001, Cassie lost her longtime best friend and teacher, a small sorrel mare named Manitou Tamzen.  After 27 years of adventures together including cattle drives, mountain rides, parades, rodeos, lead-line class, dude wrangling and sidesaddle drill team, Cassie and Tamzen truly demonstrated the meaning of versatility in horses.  See a picture of Tamzen on our Horse Memorial page.

Update - My new kitten is a registered purebred Singapura.  His name is Tae (tay).  If you've seen the movie Lilo and Stitch, he's JUST like Stitch.  His registered name will be Kucintas Makaio MaTae.  It is almost longer than he is...  I get off on registered names....  :)

Here are some of Cassie's paintings.  Click on them for larger versions.
*note from Webmistress*
These paintings were photographed, then scanned with a low quality scanner so the larger versions are a computerized copy of a copy.  Don't believe for a minute that the quality you see is any where close to the quality of the paintings.  Cassie's work is truly amazing.
