| My first Appaloosa was a 3 year old black with
a blanket. His registered name was Rickochet Ruffy, or Ricky
for short. This is a picture of him as his first and only time
to be flag horse for the Blue Mountain Riders Parade Group. We
had a great time going down the street with the paraders.
This picture is nearly 25 years old. We had some great
times together, with trail rides, jumping lessons, or just going down the
road. He could jump flat-footed 4-5 feet without thinking too
much about it. I, on the other hand, had many thoughts
since he surprised me every time he did it! He passed away
from a stroke just after chasing a cow away from his fence line.
He was a great horse and confidant. I will always miss him.
